Repost, since it got deleted, that is kinda sorted. Would be a waste to not post it again.
For other questions regarding the Ancient dragon please read/post in the main topic: viewtopic.php?t=446
And for the mods who haven't seen it yet: viewtopic.php?t=7987
Though this will be the only one of those CIT topics from my part.
Props again to Ragnorax for most of the pictures.
Step 38
Ragnorax wrote:Well i hope these pictures help you... Not to discourage you or anything, but if you are already having trouble at step 38, then i cant imagine how you will be able to finish the dragon = you got over 200 more steps to go, and this isnt even a tricky part. Its 2 basic reverse folds, and then you open sink in step 40, and then you squash fold the center in step 42.
Also i hope you are using a sheet of at least 50cm or 20 inches square.
The description for the diagrams are very clear.

Step 40

Step 46 & 47: [size]

Step 46
Step 47
Then you just fold it back down for step 50
@smexhyz
You do exactly what you did in the previous steps... it says to repeat steps 49-56 on those creases.
Step 52
Ragnorax wrote:@origami_8: to keep this thread on topic i sent you a PM asking about contacting SK
@SpecialOrigami: The middle becomes "stuck" to one side of pleats, it gets pleated in step 52. So the answer to your question is "no" the other pleats do not get folded over it.
Here are some pictures that may help illustrate:
Step 57 side view (i circled showing that the middle gets pleated)
Picture of how the middle looks when u get to step 83 (see how the middle is "stuck" to the other layer when it gets pleated?)
Step 54
Ragnorax wrote:You are pulling the layer apart so that you can collapse it the same way you did in step 52.
Maybe these pictures will help.
pull out the paper that is pleated...
then recollapse
Step 60 & 61 & 62 & 63
Ragnorax wrote:Well if you take a picture of your step 60 i can tell you if you did it correctly.
But heres my step 60
step 61 you fold down the top corner and squash the center of it
step 62 you just fold it back up and then for step 63 you just repeat on the other side's top corner
and it will look like this:
65 t/m 68

Hi, I'm on my personal challenge to bring life to a 14x14 cm Ancient Dragon, meanwhile, here are some pictures of step 66 I´ve posted on spanish Forum a whle ago. Hope they helps...
The idea is to lift a layer diagonally, to do this you use the diagonal fold to the right, lower the right up corner, down to the central line, altogether with the right edge from the first layer, which sinks diagonally, it forms a comet base in the right side.
now, to the left, the achordeon opens and you notes diagonals coming from the top of the diagonal up left running down left , they are three, first one borns on that top point; you must fold the second one, parallel to it, upper, in mountain fold (I point it with a little hand), a zig zag is formed:
the valley fold is on the third diagonal, but starts a little lower, so the strip below is a little longer
well, that's all for the moment. Good luck.
Step 70
Ragnorax wrote:Your welcome, Im a guy by the way.
But in step 70 you are just reverse folding the top flap in the middle.
I hope these picture help:

After:
Step 83 & 84 & 86
Ragnorax wrote:@federicoh For some reason that looks off to me It may be because the model is upside down in the picture or maybe the angle... That flap doesnt look right?... Are you having problems with latter steps because of this? because i think it may be ok... (i cant think right now XD)
Maybe these pictures will help reassure you if its correct or not
Step 83
Step 84:
And after the first open sink heres step 86:
Step 85

i think it will help you. I've marked sink area.
and then, sink the grey area:

I hope it will help you
Step 127 & 128
Ragnorax wrote:@mangaluli
That looks right to me... maybe these pictures will clear it up for you.
Step 127
Then crease along indicated lines...
Step 128
Step 185 & 186
Ragnorax wrote:@SweetTomato
Hope these pictures help. You open sink along the lines indicated. You are going to have to open up the wing to make the sink. It's pretty tricky.
step 185
step 186
Step 191 & 192
Ragnorax wrote:@SYY99
Just fold along the indicated creases in step 191 and it should collapse nicely. Look at step 192 as a reference. Heres pictures to help illustrate though:
Step 191:
Step 191 progression:
Step 192:
hope that helps
Step 200 & 204
Ragnorax wrote:@DaMaster Ok ill try my best to explain this...
At step 200 you have something like this...
Then it tells you to open up the first layer. What you need to do is undo one of the pleats of the claws (open it out), and then you will fold it back as indicated with mountain-valley lines.
Step 204: Once you open the first pleat and fold it back, do that for the rest of them. And you will have something like this... (2 views)
Then make series of inside-reverse folds to thin out the claws, and your claws should look like this: *Do this on the other four legs*

The paper you would use for this model doesn't need to be really all that big...20 inches is enough. It will be kinda small though.
You can buy kraft paper at a hobby lobby for about 5$ for a 30 inch by 30 foot roll, and what I do to make it stiff, is spray it with spray starch and iron it. You can also try tracing paper for it, or double tissue. I bought 100 sheets of tissue pre cut to 20 inch squares at a hobby lobby for 5$. Treat it the same way I said to do kraft paper, it works really good.
naa, don't, we can read books on the art of paper making. All those ideas are great and I will try all of them as I will probably end up trying quite a few times.

What SORT of paper would you use? Double tissue, tissue foil, newspaper, wrapping paper, kami (I think that's how you spell it), craft paper, poster paper or something else?
Also, how big?
I will do it in metric.
25cm-25cm
35cm-35cm
40cm-40cm
50cm-50cm
60cm-60cm
70cm-70cm
Other
I put down the sizes that I would prefer to use and the types of paper I would prefer to use.
"Other" obviously means that I have got a long way to go before I can start (still ) I don't know how to post polls but I will have a look.

Thanks! Double tissue it is! (unless My double tissue making skills aren't up to it (which is quite probable))
I have some very big kraft (not badly spelt, it's a brand name) paper if that would do? My double tissue making skills almost definitly arenn't up to it.

I'm making this model with bright red display backing that had been squished flat for about (....) 1.5 years.
Going very well, i used this tutorial on steps 65-69, thanks for your help! I tried with some double tissue, but it didn't work very well.
