Hey Guys!
Im looking for help on the ancient dragon (sorry if this is the wrong place to post this I'm new). I've looked through the posts and it seems that the pictures (posted by Ragnorax) are all unavailible now :/
If possible could someone help me with step 127 where you open the layer and fold it up?. A picture would be most helpful if convenient and thanks

Hi everyone!
I'm posting this, because I'm kind of stuck with the Ancient Dragon, around steps 83-84. :(
I think theres something wrong with the middle flap, it completely blocks me from doing step 83, because it separates the two bunhes of little flaps from each other (which I assume will be the claws of the dragon)

I don't see how it would block you from doing that step. From your pictures it looks like you did it correctly. You may be trying to do the step wrong. But its been a while since I've folded this model, try doing the step again and if the problem persists the best thing to do is to start over, follow the instructions carefully, and you shouldn't encounter a problem as the model so far looks pretty clean.

Thank you very much, I managed to do it, I had to pull out the entire flap, although the diagram did not clearly tell me to do it. :)

Thats good that you were able to figure it out, and now that you mention it I do remember doing that when i folded this model!
Good luck with the rest, its a hard one.

Sorry to ask a noob question, but is red terry tissue foil 60x60cm strong enough for an ancient dragon?

That should be good for it, although I find occaisonally a bad sheet of terry foil will rip at the edges wherever theres lots of folds. The ancient dragon should be fine, though, and if that does happen, just use a little bit of tape. Just be careful, and it should work out fine.

Thank you, I will go ahead when I'm finished my test model.

Well, rip me, or more accurately, my paper. I got a bad sheet. I'm still folding, but I've had to tape it in more than 10 places. It's currently doing worse than my sheet of baking/butcher's (I'm not quite sure) paper of the same size. Luckily, tape can stick to the foil side.

There is a great 2 part youtube tutorial on MarianoZavala's youtube channel.

Here are the links to the parts:

Except that MarianoZavala doesn't ask permission before making videos. It's very unethical.

My go-to paper for large models is 11 x 17 copy paper that I cut to an 11 x 11 inch square. It can be tricky if the paper get's thick, but other than that it is effective. Next time I get more I will try this model.
