Football diagram?

Post by nikupanda »

Hey ... anyone know how to fold "football" with a single sheet of paper? Any diagram online or book that I can get it? I want to give a present to my friend who has football fever.

Thanks...

i think you'd be lucky to find that shape from a single sheet. you can make it from hundreds with the sonobe module or using the plank module and some others too. i think the correct name for it is a truncated icosahedron. it's also known as a buckyball, after the molecule buckminsterfullerene My suggestion is stop being lazy and start folding sonobe modules :P

There's certainly a one piece football by Jan Willem Derksen (and, yes, it's tricky)

Try the origami database http://www.origamidatabase.com

search for
football, or
soccer, or
truncated icosahedron (the geometric name for the soccer ball)
