thanks everybody :P
to Daydreamer, in fact i myself can't tell the name of the paper i used, all i know is this kind of paper is imported from japan and it is for origami, not perfect for super complex model but fairly suitable for box pleating, the size is about 25 cm or 10 inches,
this model has a very realistic looking, i have to refold it again someday :D

imagine this is similar

lift up one layer

continue to the last layer

remember keep two corners unchanged which are the legs of the hermit

finally you can have something that looks like a shell
i took some more pictures

in fact, you should lift up two layers at the beginning and it's better to create a pleat each time you lift up any layer. don't make it too large but enough to fully cover the hermit crab
use glue to stick, hide the layers and you can have a perfect hermit crab that looks real in every direction even from the bottom, of course not mine :P
