Origami Elephant

Post by Fribbels »

Hi everyone!

I'm new here, so pardon me if I posted this in the wrong forum. However I was looking for guidance in building an origami elephant I had in mind. This is what I had in mind:

But its really hard to try and recreate from just one image. Can anyone kindly give me any tips for this? (The website doesn't give any information)

Thanks!

At least for me the image does not displayed correctly in this thread (some sites forbid embedding of images)
Here is Fribbels's link:

I don't know how much you have already figured out. So let's start from the very basics:
This is some kind of modular origami, often called "3D origami". You have to fold a whole lot of identical triangular modules and the stick them together (kind of like Lego). I doubt that there are (assembly) instructions for this particular model.

Take a look at this for a cartoon elephant using this technique

Looking for deatailed and natural designs of mythical and real creatures. If you give me an idea, please give me a link to some diagraphic instructions or the title of a book with instructions. Thanks guys!
