Hello!
completely new to origami and the forums. I am looking to create an aperture or iris like design out of folded paper. the reason being i am trying to design an adjustable paper air filter for small engines.
The design would need to be operated by a twisting motion to open or close the paper. the end product would need to be circular and fairly compact also palm sized. i am trying to do this by folding a single piece of paper. does anyone have any ideas on where to start or if this is this even physically possible?
thank you!

Re: folded aperture/iris help
I forget who it's by, but there's a model called Spring Into Action. If I understand your request, something similar to that should fit your needs.
