Name and author of this hexagonal box
Does anyone know the author and original name of this model?
I have the diagrams for it in a local publication but it does not mention either. I was trying to make Fred Rohm's Star of David from a square and the diagrams start with a hexagon obtained after some precreasing from a square, but the instructions do not show the actual precreasing. I checked the box's diagrams since I remembered it was done from a hexagon obtained from a square and the instructions for obtaining the hexagon turned out to be the ones necessary for the star of David. Coincidence?

I have something similar here:
http://origami.oschene.com/archives/200 ... -see-here/
It's made from a square and does not pre-hexify the paper.

I found a picture of the finished model at an OUSA 2006 gallery. Since I think there are forum rules about not displaying pictures you don't have the copyright to, I am only providing the link
The picture shows 2 models and the identification card mentions snow flake, but I think it reffers tot he other model. The card says t: Larry Davis c: others
What does t mean? I think c means creator and t means folder but I don't see why
As you can see the sides of the model are not flat. and the top is quite nice. I think I'll have access to a camera latter in the day and post my own pictures

Ishibashi crystal variation
Thanks to brimstone for showing me this interesting model.
From hexagons.
Left one is the original model, as diagrammed by Vicente Palacios in his book Papiroflexia basica.
Also diagrammed here under the appellation hexagonal rose box :

Right one is a variation I designed, it makes this model not less a crystal but more a box.
It needs a 1/12 grid, which isn't complicated since in the original model you already precrease the hexagon in 3rds.
