Unknown $ Rabbit

Post by thedeadsmellbad »

I found this image in a Maxim magazine.
I don't recognize the names given or the design itself.
Does anyone know who made this or if any diagrams for it exist?
They look really cool.

I have seen the article, but I didn't take note into how they were mad. I think my friend has the magazine. Next time i get a chance I'll try and figure out how it's made.

Is there still no informative soul out there that can solve this mystery, unwrap this enigma, or piece this puzzle together?
They sure are cute & I still have found no additional info on them.

I´d guess it´s Yoshihide Momotani´s rabbit to be found for example in the book "Papiroflexia Selecta" by Vincente Palacios.

If they are, then it's a variation. Look closely to both picture, the models are quite different

indeed, there is a difference! i've bought the momotani book 'origami animals' and have already folded the rabbit.
you can try to get in contact with the magazine where the randy rabbits were in - the makers will probably know where they're from ...

I think the rabbits are by Marc Kirschenbaum. See the last paragraph of this Village Voice article:
Link
(The article is mainly about Marc's erotic origami, so it might not be considered work-safe.)

"just this January, Maxim commissioned copulating bunnies, each made out of a hundred-dollar bill. Like a makeup artist, [Marc Kirschenbaum] was on standby as they shot the scene. He had just a single touch-up; one of the bunny's ears had come slightly undone."

From the article JMcK linked to. (for those of you who are too young and/or squeamish to view a little "pornigami"[sic])

That could have been me...I corresponded with the lady at Maxim, but I forgot to send the fornicating bunnies photos... (would have made me quite a hit at my college though :( )
