Origami lamp
Hi everyone!
I have been browsing the internet for instructions for a origami lamp for days now - with no success. But maybe you guys can help me out??
This is the lamp I want to make, anyone have any idea where I can get instructions on how to? Would really appreciate some help

Re: Origami lamp
I don't know where you could find some instructions but it looks simple so you might be able to reverse engineer it--I see bird bases all around it and overlapping internal flaps for the 3d effect for instance. I don't know because apparently this store makes them, and I didn't see any instructions for sale.
I found this site to make a diamond/5 pointed star
http://www.origami-make.com/origami-sta ... ointed.php
This might help you figure out how to design the 3d effect on the model. Of course, the lamp has an opening on the bottom, so it's going to be a little different....
Hope I helped somewhat.

Re: Origami lamp
To make origami lamps what you should have is patience and concentration. The best way to make the lamp shade you posted would be to observe it closely and keep a note of what all curves you need to make and then try to make a trial small version of it.
Re: Origami lamp
Somewhat similar to Kamiyas diamond...

Re: Origami lamp
Really easy, you need a long strip of paper (f.e. 1x4) that you divide into many equal sections (f.e. 24).
Then you insert those Creases:
Glue the right and left side together and you are done.

Who actually designed that? Thank you Anna for the CP!!

Re: Origami lamp
Looks somewhat similar to Satoshi Kamiya's diamond. It seems easy enough to be reverse engineered.

Re: Origami lamp
This origami lamp is more complicated than it seems. The name of this lamp shade is Chestnut Lampshade made by Studio Snowpuppe (design by Kenneth and Nellianna).
The interior is like a shell

Re: Origami lamp
I discovered how to fold this via reverse engineering, as avobe was suggested, and wanted to shared the answer here, but then I noticed the previous comment was erased because of copyright infringement. It says: "Please do not repost any photos or diagrams relating to the original design" so in the following comment I will give hints for those who want to make the lamp themselves. I will post another comment so if the copyright owner doesn't like it can delete it without need to erase this one. (Sorry for my bad english)
Re: Origami lamp Hints
· If you look closer at the available pictures you will notice there's no seams, so...
· Stop trying to use a long strip of paper.
· Start thinking in polar coordinates.
· You will need two dodecagons.
· Forget the inner spiral, it shapes itself when you put all folds together.
Let me now if it was useful
EDIT: Many people send me e-mails asking for instructions via this forum. But I don't open that mail account very often (once in a year or two) so you can write me directly to pabloyungblut@outlook.com for the instructions. Thank you.

Re: Origami lamp
Hi everyone!
I'd like to ask about this origami lamp: http://www.studiosnowpuppe.nl/media/cat ... _brown.jpg
It is from the magicball I guess, and I have folded one here, from a rectangle, with 3 rolls and 7 columns (as you can see in the picture above, 7 points)...
But I don't know how to fit it together.
People use tape in the magic ball, but it would be ugly to see the tape from inside, right? And in the pictures you just can't see any tape or seams...
And something curious, look at this lamp, a variation:

Is it from a long strip of paper?
Thanks for any help!

Re: Origami lamp
If you can't find any seams probably it's not folded from a long strip of paper. Maybe it's like the Chestnut one and it's made from a dodecagon (inside a square sheet of course).
