Hello everyone!

Post by deadbard »

Hello people, I'm deadbard and before I make a proper presentation I'd like to point out that there seem to be an issue with this forum on Firefox, as a matter of facts whenever I tried to register it'd just tell me that there was an error in registration form.
After that I tried with IE and everything worked out, the problem is that now every time I try to login on firefox it kicks me out automatically right after confirming that I was able to login (still on IE while writing this post).

Is there a way to resolve this issue? I'd really like to navigate the forum on Firefox rather than using IE.

I'm really sorry, but I can not reproduce your problem. I'm using Firefox all the time and do not have any problems. Maybe try clearing the cache and cookies, then try again. Sometimes there can be add-ons interfering with a correct display of the Forum, for example if you have an ad-blocker that recognizes something as advertisement that isn't like pictures or videos.

Yup, looks like it was a problem with cookies, thanks a lot!

Anyway as promised here's a proper presentation:
I've been initiated to the folding art when I was in my first year of middle school by finding a section dedicated to origami in a geometry schoolbook.
I kept folding for a bunch of years but eventually moved onto other stuff until a few months ago when my sister, remembering that I used to fold origami, asked me to fold flowers to decorate the room where she's gonna celebrate her wedding, that's when I rediscovered the world of origami and brought my game up a level by folding more complex origami and after rewitnessing the beauty that can come from a single square of paper I'm eager to learn more about the trade, like folding from CP (atm I'd like to fold the Kraken Attack from Brian Chan but I guess I'm still not good enough for that) and eventually I'd like to design my own models, so well, I did some researches and found this forum, hope you can help me with my growth!

Here's some of the models I folded:

Nguyen Hung Cuong's Eagle folded from a 45x45cm square of double tissue:

Satoshi Kamiya's Chocobo from a 15x15cm square of printer paper:

Satoshi Kamiya's Wizard folded from a 44x44cm square of double tissue:

Satoshi Kamiya's Phoenix folded from a 60x60cm square of... I'm not really sure what kind of paper it was (folded with the help of tadashimori's tutorial):

Welcome to the forum! Just let me know if you need help with something, and I'll try to do the best I can.

Good luck with Attack of the Kraken--I'm still trying to figure out that one myself. The only thing I can say about that, though, is to keep practicing, and you'll get it eventually.

As far as designing your own models, I'd recommend picking up a copy of Origami Design Secrets by Robert Lang.
After the fall, we rise.

Thanks for the welcome and the offer.

I had my eyes on that book for a while, looks promising and a lot of people keep mentioning it, waiting to rack up enough money to afford it!
