1. Make lots of tissue foil whenever you can.
2. Don't inhale too much spray adhesive.
3. Paper is usually cheaper when bought in rolls.
4. Don't rub lemon juice on paper cuts.
5. Kraft paper is generally good for trying out new things.
6. Don't drink tea while folding; it leaves nasty stains on paper.
7. Tweezers are your friend.
8. Good paper is expensive but your models will come out nicer (with practice).
9. Origami books are a good investment, particularly foreign books with limited printing runs.
10. Rice paper doesn't really taste that good.

You know, I absolutely hate the paper on those things - it gives you that yucky soggy membrane feeling on your tongue. Bleah!

On a related note, has anyone tried folding those Listerine PocketPak strips yet? :D
