I know I'm a bit late, but I'm pretty sure that David is from Brisbane :D

Well, it took a bit of doing (activation problems) but I am now activated and logged in.

I am also from Brisbane, (Geebung) and am amazed that there seems to be no club, group, etc, locally or otherwise. If there are, they're really well hidden!

I was thinking of starting something, (wasn't sure how to proceed) but if you're keen,I'm happy to let you! :)

It would sure be nice to get together with someone else who loves origami and just share ideas and stuff.

If you're willing, I'm in!

Just an idea;
Maybe we could utilise a library or something? I know Chermside library has a couple of rooms. Last time we were there on a Thursday night, someone was having a talk on vegetarian food or something.
I think origami would be a lot more interesting!
I'm also suggesting it because I am lazy, and it is the one closer to me. :P

Does this help?

I'd be interested in an origami club. I live in Redcliffe.

There's a fairly solid group down in Melbourne.
Their website is http://origami.org.au

If you're thinking of starting your own little club in Brisbane then yes, I'd say a library or even a foodcourt in a shopping centre are good places to meet.

The Sydney club that I started in 2010 is still going strong and we've always just met in the foodcourt at a local shopping centre. Plenty of tables and chairs easily available, plus food and drink too!
I like it better than a library because you don't have to worry about getting kicked out for being too noisy.
