10 largest Origami Clubs/Associations in the United States?

Post by CharlesWallace »

Hello:

I am in the early planning stages of an Origami-related project that would benefit from the opinions, support, suggestions, cautionary tales, and reality testing that a large group of origamists could (voluntarily) provide. From a practical standpoint, bouncing the idea off a large, established group of fellow folders could provide a wealth of perspectives--and this could be done by sending out a message to some of the larger Origami clubs/organizations in (for now) the United States.

Okay...throw in Canada if you're so inclined.

I'm not ruling out wonderful venues like The Origami Forum, of course; I'm just trying to cast a broad net for feedback in an efficient manner.

Does anyone know--or can provide a reasonably accurate guess--as to the ten largest (by membership) active origami clubs/groups/associations (and so on) in the United States? If you have contact information as well, terrific. If not, that's not a problem.

With sincere thanks,
Paul

I really don't know any of the groups Charles, but I thought this list could help you: https://origamiusa.org/groups_us

Those are a good number of the groups in the US, including some information of each group.

Hope it helps :).

While I have seen this list before, I am grateful for your prompt response!

I may fall back on contacting large entities like OrigamiUSA as well as regional groups or those in large cities that might reasonably have a larger number of members.

You might consider selecting those which support conventions. Takes a big group to be able to do that.
