I live in the Ottawa region, On.

I never found any groups in my region. I started a family-focused origami group called "Origamistes en herbe" (http://origamistes.enherbe.org -- only in French for now), to meet other people interested in origami in my region and to promote the educational side of origami. If someone knows the existence of other groups in my region, I'm very interested to know.

Your link doesn't seem to work for me. I live pretty much right next to Ottawa by the way, so I'd like to know more about your group.

Hi Sunburst,

Sorry about the site, we had a power outage all evening. All is good now.

Like I said, the site is only in French for now... If you don't speak French or want more information, I'll be glad to answer all your questions.

Good, I managed to check out your blog. I might come for a visit on your reunions once in a while, if my university workload allows me to ;). Also, I live in Quebec; French is my native language.

I am from Saskatoon Saskatchewan (I too speak French, lots of French speakers here). As far as I know there are only two other people as enthusiastic as I with Origami in the city. As a teacher I want to set up a serious Origami Society or Club for education and presentation purposes. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting started?

I may be moving to Calgary which is nice since I know that many folders live there now.

Hi, I'm in Halifax, NS, and my daughter (8) is an avid folder. I think she is quite good, at least she is folding things that I find incredibly complicated, such as unicorn, pegasus, and a bunch of other things. She is quite serious about it, and would like to meet kids her age, or adults who love origami and would like to share their passion.

Please PM me if you know kids who love folding, or have any idea how to find more kids with the same interests.

I guess I'm going to post on kijiji as well, but I don't know where to look for more local information.

Thanks in advance!! :)
Can't fold a thing, but my daughter can :-)

Hi Unicornfolder
That's great about your daughter. I hope you find someone nearby with similar interests...
However, we folders are few and far between, so if your daughter doesn't meet up with people nearby, she can easily communicate via this forum or get a flickr page set up where she can post some photos of things she's folded - and then get info and feedback on that.
And then there's origami conventions, like the big one in New York every year which could be alot of fun.

Anyway, good luck
Greetings
Quentin
