Extract of the Foreword by Dave Brill :

".....
One of my regular ports of call in this relentless search is the forum of the Vietnam Origami Group http://forum.origami.vn/ , a rich resource indeed. It forms the foundation of this book, which introduces the work of the best creators from Vietnam. These young artists have been quick to establish their own individual styles, and their work is already easily recognisable. Other emerging creators sometimes take several years to evolve their own characteristics, so the work portrayed here is notable for its early individuality.

These youthful designers cover an impressive range of styles. Study carefully the minimalist work of Pham Dieu Huy, Nguyen Vo Hien Chuong, and Nguyen Tu Tuan. At the other end of the spectrum, lovers of advanced folds will enjoy Nguyen Hung Cuong, Le Tuan, and Dao Cuong Quyet and others. The artists themselves have prepared all of the fully detailed diagrams in this book. But don’t think that only the complex work is challenging: to reproduce the subtle and suggestive pieces by the minimalist Vietnamese folders requires other kinds of skills. Sensitivity, precision, and acute respect for the paper are tools you will need to get the best from these pages......"

it was my hope that this special book would be published before my birthday - just to make it a present for myself. now it's too late but i'm going to make it an afterwards-pleasure ...
what about artur biernackies' new book - will you sell it in your origami-shop, too, nicolas?

i confess i'm a little bummed to see quyet's vampire didn't make it. only because he clearly comments in his flickr that it was being diagrammed.

bethnor:
Really? Wow, that is a downer. :(

But still, many of the models in this book are amazing. The range of styles and complexity, and the subjects, all make up for it.
Not to mention, personally, a lot of these models I've been wanting, so the fact that they're all in one book makes me very happy :P

to me this book is not just a collection of origami instructions but a document of a quite creative origami community - it would be interesting to see some more of these national collections in the future.

This is the most excited I've ever been for an origami book! I think the models selected to be in this book were great choices and I will enjoy folding them over and over! That werewolf especially looks great! :D

Another day 1 purchase for me. Good to see the complex models getting some love here (eupatorus, werewolf)

I'm excited for all the models. The one that intrigues me the most is the Horse. It looks unlike any of the many other horses diagrammed so far - but I suspect it will require some real artistic skill to get those flowing aspects looking good.
