inkscape is pretty easy to figure out if you have any experience with photoshop or gimp.

No, hand drawn diagrams or other clear instructions (photo or text) count as well.
Are these good enough?

these are just some pics i made to help a guy out, they arent for the book.

okay, i will instead submit nice text instructions, because the deadline is almost here, and I need to submit it.
Maybe I will submit actual diagrams next year!

Yay! I just sent mine in!
Except I am sending in the "revised" version tomorrow because I need mine checked for error and such, and maybe not tomorrow, whenever Anna emails me back. I hope they are good enough!

just a side not: i don't know how many people are actually interested in folding my star, but my submission isn't JUST text. what it is is a crease pattern with written instructions on how to collapse it without folding all the creases first.

Well, even though I can't solve CPs personally, I'm submitting one cuz I don't have time to draw out full diagrams. It's a crappy CP, but I think it still may be solveable.

I will scan the diagrams I've made of a pistol with a stock and submit the PDF as soon as I can.

In what format do we receive the finished book? Is it a PDF?

I'd love to submit something, but it's getting dangerously close to the deadline and I have my last final this Tuesday...

Well, I've just sent a model I created this summer. Easier impossible but I like its simplicity :-)

If it doesn't end in the book, I'll publish it somewhere :-)

Now that I have it, I don't know how to draw a line
Inkscape has an excellent tutorial in the Help menu. Help -> Tutorials

Start with the Basic tutorial and work your way down.
Jonakashima made some toturials on how to draw diagrams in inkscape.
