Crumpled vs. Order is simply a matter of Entropy S= KlogN ... much easier than quantum or genetics..

Why do you care about what paper to fold with? I mean...

oh please...my goodness, if your going to ask a question like that...
printer paper can't shape at all. its made so cheap its insane. it is ok for the simpler models, but even they degrade over time.

i made this with origamido paper 40x40cm: Image

printer paper doesn't come anywhere near that size, so you would have difficulty folding to begin with. then shaping would be a pain in the ass when your done folding it. (don't get me wrong, this was hard as hell with origamido paper. it took me over 10 hours)
if u somehow got this model to look good with printer paper, it would just erode after about a year. this model will last most like over 40 years because i made it with handmade paper and treated the paper with archival methylcellulose before and after folding.

this is just an example, and i am not saying origamido is the best paper you can get. it is nice though.

How do you cut this paper?
I have tried two pocket knifes, an exact-o knife, and a box knife these just seemed to rip the paper and not cut it :(

Hmmm having never used (or had) the paper before, i'm not positive, but for all my papers, I use an x-acto type knife. It's used a lot in construction. Just google: breakaway knife

It's pretty much a razor blade that when one blade gets dull, you can use pliers to break off that piece to get to a new blade.

If you get it, BE CAREFUL!!! I'm not trying to sound like a worried mother or anything, but I got a few bad cuts by cutting too quick sometimes. Super duper sharp so be careful ;)
I would rather fail trying than fail without trying....

For cutting paper I usually use a rotary cutter. It has the advantage that it rolls over the paper and therefore it is almost impossible that the paper rips. Especially for Tissue Foil that is still moist this is the perfect knife, because every other knife has the tendency to ripple the moist tissue paper together instead of cutting it.
Something else I'd recommend is getting a rather big and heavy cutter/knife, it really helps because the weight presses the paper down while cutting making things a lot easier.
