Re: Nguyen Hung Cuong - Eagle
I've completed the collapses no problem, it's the various shifting layers/spread-sinks/sinks etc. that are tough to discern since the lines do not have varying thickness, especially in the 80s and 90s. Those drove me nuts for the longest time.
Re: Nguyen Hung Cuong - Eagle
not to be a boor, but the 80s and 90s are when it finally starts getting fun.
Re: Nguyen Hung Cuong - Eagle
Ive tried this model about 4 times now. I probably sound like a noob, but I can't even get to the collapse. The pre-Creasing is crazy.
Re: Nguyen Hung Cuong - Eagle
i need help on step 55 how do you reverse that corner
P.S. i am crap at origami (noob) lol

Re: Nguyen Hung Cuong - Eagle
I have tried this eagle twice and in both cases I have failed. The first time I stopped in the second collpse, but the second time I arrived to step 140 and noticed that I had a flap missing. I will have to start from scratch. But this time I will try to fold it with a bigger paper.
I was wondering if anyone has used double tissue for this eagle? Is there a specific paper someone recomends?
Thanks

19" double tissue will work just fine for this.Illya wrote:I have tried this eagle twice and in both cases I have failed. something thin and strong.Illya wrote:Is there a specific paper someone recomends?
as a reference, this is my rendition from a 50 cm piece of foil from origami-shop. the foil is actually too thick to do the finishing touches on the talons. it's also too weak. i had to strategically place tape on the foil side during precreasing to prevent ripping during the sequence.
Re: Nguyen Hung Cuong - Eagle
Thanks for the comments, I will try a thrid time, lets see how it works out

Larger would be easier, but this is from a 19" (~50cm) sheet of DTMC. You will have to wetfold it to finish.GeorgianFolder wrote:48cm double tissue is good paper for this eagle??????????
One of the best models out there IMO. Tweezers help too...

Re: Nguyen Hung Cuong - Eagle
Bethnor, thanks to your advice I was able to finish the eagle
However, I am not too pleased with how it looks.
I plan to re-fold it after I finish a project I have started for my grandmother.
Thanks again!

Re: Nguyen Hung Cuong - Eagle
Yes, it is a squash. Try reaching inside the model to make it easier.
Re: Nguyen Hung Cuong - Eagle
Ok, I will try to squash it, thanks! I'll be back if I succeed
Re: Nguyen Hung Cuong - Eagle
Hi,
I'm a bit stuck on step 113 on Nguyen Hung Cuong's Eagle. It says to repeat steps 77-118. I have done exactly the same as before, but in reflection (I assumed it would be a reflection of the steps, as seen by the picture on step 120, which is a reflection of step 78), but I'm now stuck on step 113, as I cannot pull the flap down.
I have pulled out some paper from inside (steps 107 and 109), but the flap still appears to be connected to the layers either side, so I cannot move the flap down and get to step 114
This might be related to previous steps (I have tried unfolding to 77 and back again), but this is my first time folding this model so I'm not sure!
Any help would be really appreciated!
Sorry for any inconveniences...
Thank you for your time!
