Right. A new challenge. This is an ongoing challenge, with no prizes, and no winners. Have a look at this page from Listverse first : http://listverse.com/2012/12/12/10-incr ... d-animals/
There are a hundred samurai helmet beetle designs. There are a hundred crane designs. There are a hundred horse designs. But are there any Yeti Crab designs? No. Are there any Walter Duiker designs? no. Are there any Lesula designs? No.
The challenge is this - design an animal that has never been folded before. There are a large number of species that have been recently described. Your mission, should you accept it, is to fold one of them.
The usual origami rules apply - one square (or regular polygon), no cuts, no glue, your own design only. And an additional rule from me - if a similar model exists (such as a similar spider), you must use a new technique. For example, instead of box-pleating an octagon for a Goliath Bird Eating Spider, try hex pleating, or circle packing.
Lets see what we can do to bring new creatures to origami life!
PS: Extinct species, such as new dinosaurs, are also allowed!

I once set up an origami PLC. But the business folded.

Hey Fishgot,
For the same reason as you, finding some wierd/ rare species on the internet, I posted this:
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=10331 topic a while back. I've been trying to list animals that have not been done in origami since and I me some other peope have designed a few models from the list. Might be interesting for you to take a look at.
