Flying Odontolabis Lacordairei
Designed by me. My first design of 2013!!
My friend Justin said I should design a flying insect sometime so here one is. My first flying insect design :D
I am extremely happy with the way this turned out, especially the colour change. Folded from a 45cm square of tissue foil. Box pleated on a grid of 48. I was surprised i could fit everything on a 48 grid but it seemed to work out all right. I think I am the first person to design a flying version of this insect. If anyone knows of any others please let me know! I hope you guys like it :D

Deer
Designed and folded by me in late December but I only upload picture now. So this was my last design is 2012!
Folded from a 50cm square of paper, box pleated on a grid of 60. This model required a lot of shaping. especially on the body. I probably spent the same amount of time on shaping as I did on collapsing. I am very happy with the way this come out. This model was extremely hard to photograph due to the antlers... Hope you like :D
