Re: Eamon McCandless
Hi friends. Recently, I got a signifigantly better camera, and so my photos should naturally be better. I am still improving my photography skills, so any tips are welcome. Just compare this photo to the one directly above.
Additionally, here are some new folds, both designed by Giang Dinh.
I wonder if I am the only one who thinks his face looks a bit like Darth Vader
This one was courteously touched up in photoshop by my brother.
Hope you all enjoy these. Have a nice day!

Re: Eamon McCandless
Excellent folds!
Photo suggestions:
1. Find a white sheet or white umbrella (it's worth the price from a thrift store) and try to let the light diffuse through the umbrella (or sheet) to get rid of the shadows.
2. Try taking ~10 different angles per model with the idea of saving only one of them. Frequently, I find that my first shot is my best, but I learn something from the others, then I can go back and tweak what I did for the best one to improve it a little.
3. With the lion, try diffuse light from different angles. With Darth Gorilla Vader, a brighter lighter, at a lower angle, and diffused, may bring out details while eliminating the shadows. Photoshop may help.
4. The 'angle' of the cat and the 'action' shot is good. But try from different heights (and distance?) for slightly different effects.
5. White background is safe, but consider other solid background colors, perhaps complementary colors.

Re: Eamon McCandless
From some WIP pictures I stumbled across online, combined with a video uploaded by the designer showing the shaping, and various pictures online, I was able to fold Stefan Weber's bull. I struggled greatly with getting decent proportions. I didn't correctly form the ears, but oh well. What do you think?
I don't like this view as much, but the other one makes the back legs look skinny.

Re: Eamon McCandless
I remember the original with a smaller head. But I like the shaping
Also your lion's muscular body looks great, but to be honest the face looks like a dog's. Maybe a graft?

Re: Eamon McCandless
Thank you! The head is big because I don't have diagrams. Chances are I used the wrong reference point reverse engineering it .
I rather liked the head of the lion, but if you say it is bad, I will try to change it. I seem to have trouble with the heads of my designs!

Still no progress on that lion . Anyways, here are some new folds, both folded from six inch kami. This was the first time I tried taking pictures outside.
