Re: I need a chinchilla
I couldn't find a chinchilla, but maybe you tweak Joisel rat model or maybe the guinea pig by chad kileen? Or maybe you can find a squirrel model that can be modified, or a rabbit? Kangaroo might even work as well. Anything with a short snout, big ears and tail could work. Getting the fat body might be hard.

Apart from the tail (that can be shaped differently), I think that Vladimir Serov's "Siberian jerboa" looks a lot like a Chinchilla: http://vs-origami.narod.ru/diag.en.htm
Re: I need a chinchilla
Check the Gerboise in Lionel Alberitno's Safari Origami (its available as a free download at origami-shop.com, I think) The fore legs are a bit short but with some minor adjustments it could pass for a chinchilla

Re: I need a chinchilla
I once tried my hand at designing a chinchilla. It didn't work out too well, but with any luck I can finish it up and post a CP.
Re: I need a chinchilla

Re: I need a chinchilla
I am sure that noone will answer "butterfly" when you will ask "what is it", but recognize it as a chinchilla should be very difficult. But it will be easier for people who loves chinchilla and has five at home
Anyway, it is a general qestion, how to differ similar kinds of animals: hamster vs. guinea pig, rabbit vs. hare, locust (no grasshopper) vs. cicada, dog vs. volf, lionless vs. leopard etc. Do you know other similar animals which is difficult to differ one from the other?

Hey andrej. You should search for the "animals that haven't been done... yet" topic. There was a similar discusion, on how you can get the charateristics of an animal, even with species that have little difference.

Re: I need a chinchilla
Btw there are some difference species you mention. Rabbit and hares have different tails, proportions are slighly different etc.

Re: I need a chinchilla
You are right! Of cource that rabbit and hare are different, they have SLIGHTLY different proportions etc. But it is enough to differ they on the first look? Hardly. You need to express something else. Typical pose or something else, slightly different proportion is not enough.
