I find Robert Neale's dragon to be very effective. Good folding sequences have been publised by Jeremy Shafer in "Origami to Astonish and Amuse", and Robert Lang in "Origami Design Secrets." Jeremy Shafer lists his as "intermediate" difficulty. Lang's version is a bit more complicated but incorporates a cool head with jaws and horns.

Here are a couple that I folded, tweaked a little bit from Lang's design:

Glad you like them!

They are folded from 10 inch squares of double-sided Japanese foil paper. It's available through Origami USA in their foil paper section.

So what exactly is the connection between Kawasaki roses and dragons?
Although a dragon with a Kawasaki rose incorporated (similar to the Kawasaki rose crane by Satoshi Kamiya, 2nd one on that page) might be cool and definitely something new....
So long and keep folding ^_^

Try Jeremy Shafer's dragon. It's in origami to astonish and amuse.

Although the final model isnt my favourite, the method used by John Montroll for the Eastern Dragon in his Zodiac / Mythological book is one of the best there is.

Basically, its a stretched bird base with a strip graft between two of the diagonals. One end of this is folded into a frog base, which forms the head.

The flashy silver dragon on my web site is loosely based on this...

Another great dragon base is Sebastian Cerveses dragon (apologies spelling), which essentially uses a partially streched blintz frog base, with the centre of the model as the dragons model. Add a couple of strip grafts into this to create toes, frills, teeth, horns, etc, and you can get some preety impressive dragons.
I once set up an origami PLC. But the business folded.

I have started the dragon by gilgado but on step 16 and 17 I have no clue how to get the waterbomb base because all I get is the preliminary base. Perhaps I am doing something wrong.
Help is greatly appreciated :D
