i can't currently. The recommended size of sheet is 60 cm and the largest square i have currently is 37.5 cm. so i just wanted to see the base and see how much work would be left after the base is done

Not really... The base should look like this(head is not fully collapsed)

As you can see, shaping is pretty easy after the base is done... but because I dont like using kraft for my final folds I never shaped this one, so I prepared 64*64 cm sheet of double mulberry and never started folding it again. XD

Im not sure how do you fold CPs but when I fold them I have always colored side up which is in this case White and not colored side... So if you use red.white you should fold it from white side, because the color changes are really simple and come from the edges.

As I said to sr123... you should just make straight creases and open the bag later...

I've had no luck accomplishing the collapse. Some of my folds actually started to tear out. Now I have to start over. I've come to realize (or at least I think) that some of the lines in the original Crease pattern are actually details. Can anybody give me any idea if there is an order to simplifying this?

As I said the lines on the beg are details you just make straight creases there. Everything else is the same.

Tape 4 together. Then you have a 60cm sheet. Or methylcellulose them together.

If I consider the dark lines as Valley-folds and the grey lines as Mountain-folds, do I have to start from the red side?
