What have you folded lately?

My origami robot rat. I need to find a way to add more details to represent the technological side of my rat but I believe I have captured it's robotic skeletal structure OK. I used a 60x60cm square sheet of kraft paper.

I love this idea, food and design. How did you think of it?

Well first I came up with the idea of making an origami human cyborg. I did ok at that, then I decided to extend this idea to animals by coming up with a cyborg rat (not fully robotic) then I realised that would require a lot of planning due to the assymetrical design, so I went for a fully blown robot rat

After folding Hoang Trung Thanh's Swordsman, I got inspired to design my own human figures.

I'd like to acknowledge that some of the aspects are similar to the Swordsman, like the way pants are formed by wrapping paper around the legs.

Purely out of boredom Fairly simple....it uses 32 grids.

Not sure if it's a dragon or a wyvern...Anyway...it uses only 32 grids box-pleating, quite simple really I did the best I could for the details-the head,hands/wings,legs,tail,scales on the back...Hope you guys like it !!

Tridacna gigas (Giant clam) for July 2015 origami challenge (topic: curves and curved shapes)

the model is structurally simple, but quite tricky to get it to the proper shape. I spent three hours playing around with each one of these. I'm only a bit sad the big one doesn't hold properly, the paper turned out to be too heavy and too soft...

because the rules say the model must come from a square, these do too, but they're actually based on dodecagons. I just folded the extra paper away.

I found out different species of these clams have a varying number of grooves on the shells, ranging from 4 to 7, my model has 5. I might explore this further to add some variety to the collection. The easiest one with 4 grooves would use an octagon as its starting polygon.
