Wow, Nice!!! Just one little thing though, you can make the fingers more efficient by putting them on the edge of the paper like this:Image

Created for the June 2014 monthly design challenge:

Originally I just set out to create a tent, but there was enough paper left to create the campfire. That design involved pre-creasing the paper into 10ths, which was a bit of a pain, and meant the campfire only had 5 tongues of flame. So I added some paper to the sides to make it 16ths to give me 9 tongues of flame, and the extra paper also let me create feet. A few more manipulations of the end of the paper let me turn that 9 tongues into 16, as well as distributed the flames a bit more evenly.

I'll try to get a CP up in the near future.

Sea Serpent - original design. Stretched bird base.

"Felix" - original design. Fan art for someone I follow on Twitter. Fish base.

Antarctic Faceoff - original design. A few years back I figured out a method for folding a penguin using the corner of a square. Then just recently I figured out a way to fold a surfacing orca from the corner of a square. At that point I really had no choice but to combine the two.

New model - finished designing it yesterday, folded this version last night. I've been trying to come up with something like this for months now, and finally found an approach that worked. I'm quite pleased with the result (and the math geek in me is thrilled with the geometry of the base).

The Sword in the Stone

Post by yagowe »

Designed for the monthly folding challenge. It uses the same base as my model The Return - roughly speaking the hand becomes the sword, the grave becomes the anvil, and the headstone becomes the stone.
