Re: What To Fold
Is your paper double sided? I'm assuming it is.
For your red and green paper, maybe Robert Lang's Ruby Throated Humming Bird? Your paper might be a little bit too big.
For your yellow and brown one, I recomend Satoshi Kamiya's sheep. I did mine with 25cm brown and white kami and it worked just fine.

1. 50 cm gold silver tissue paper
2. 55cm unryu
Any level of complexity so long as it compliments the paper.

Re: What To Fold
If you don't mind making a monocolour model with that paper, Brian Chan's WALL-E might be a good option. As well as the CP on his website, I think there may be instructions somewhere, although the CP isn't especially hard.mech_tech wrote:1. 50 cm gold silver tissue paper

Re: What To Fold
33cm super-thin Tangerine Luster Ogami. Same color on each side. It might end up as a scorpion unless anyone has a better idea.
Re: What To Fold
Paper Size: 50x50 cm square or smaller
Colors: Matte Tree Bark, Matte Moss Green, Copper Luster, and Whale Blue Luster.
Thickness: Super thin (23 gsm)
Paper Type: O-Gami
Complexity: Phoenix 3.5 is the most complex thing I've folded so far, but I'd be willing to push myself a little further.
Made an account here because I can't decide what to do with a few sheets of O-Gami paper I got for Christmas. I've used it once before to make a Phoenix 3.5, and I'm going to use one of the sheets, a Tangerine Luster to fold another. But, I'm not sure what I want to fold with the rest. Whatever I fold, I'd like them to be models that benefit from the strength and thinness of the paper.

Re: What To Fold
Pseudo -> The copper might make a good dragon or scorpion.
All super-thin Ogami:
32cm Tree Bark
35cm Dark Terracotta
35cm Light Terracotta
Complex - Super-complex, though I don't want size to be an issue.

Thanks, I think I may use the copper as an excuse to learn Ancient DragonBaltorigamist wrote:Pseudo -> The copper might make a good dragon or scorpion.

I feel like either terracotta would make a nice deer or similar beast since the thinness would be suited to complex antlers.

Re: What To Fold
1 paper size: 15x15 cm
2 Glow in the dark (some are green, some pink)
3 I honestly have no idea how thick the sheets are. I think pretty average
4 it's just normal paper I think? Its not foil or anything.
5 something that's been diagrammed or made into a video (I can't yet fold from CP's :c). Complexity level intermediate I guess.
Basically I got glow in the dark folding paper for christmas, but I can't decide what I'll make with it. So I'd be really grateful for suggestions

Even though this model starts from a half-a-square triangle, I suggest Michael LaFosse's Happy Good Luck Bat (diagram from origami.cz website).Tanngniostr wrote:glow in the dark folding paper

Other night creatures can make pretty models with that kind of paper too.

Re: What To Fold
Interesting situation, Tanngnoistr. I've never heard of glow in the dark paper, and if you do end up folding anything, make sure you post it in the "what have you folded lately" thread!
First of all, you didn't mention whether or not the paper glowed on both sides or just one. If it glows on only one side, I suggest you find a big-eyed animal with a color changed eye, to create a creepy effect such as the owls shown below. I think any color changed model would be interesting but colored eyes would work best.

My other idea, regardless of whether the paper glows on both sides or not, would be to create a lamp-like object that glows by itself. There are many tessellations that work, but an easy one is the magic ball. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgXwSdJNks8
Other tessellations will definetly work if you know any, and you can also use a larger grid for the magic ball to make it rounder and more detailed. Here is something you would be aiming for:

If you do make anything, please share it! I'm looking forward to seeing a LIT fold!
Also, I know it was a gift, but do you know where somebody could get glowing paper?

Re: What To Fold
@Tanngniostr: Maybe you could fold some kind of insect with that paper? I think the fluorescent effect could look nice with a cicada or similar.
@NeverCeaseToCrease: A far as I know, you can buy it at Origami-Shop. They sell it in 15x15cm in green and pink (as mentioned), with one side fluorescent colored and the other one just white.

The paper glows on only one side. That's a really good idea about the inverted eyes.NeverCeaseToCrease wrote: First of all, you didn't mention whether or not the paper glowed on both sides or just one. I hadn't thought about making a lamp-like thing. I haven't tested yet how strong the paper glows, I think I will do that today. I was already thinking about folding the magic ball, but I had not yet connected it to making it with the glow in the dark paper. I think I'll fold that. Luckyly, I have 10 sheets of it, so I can make a couple of modelsNeverCeaseToCrease wrote: My other idea, regardless of whether the paper glows on both sides or not, would be to create a lamp-like object that glows by itself. I'll share it when finished! I hope my camera will be good enough to pick up the glow, though.NeverCeaseToCrease wrote: If you do make anything, please share it! I'm looking forward to seeing a LIT fold!

Re: What To Fold
I received some papers to try with my latest Origami Shop order.
I think I decided I would fold Komatsu's Squirrel with the Golden River paper. And I would fold Hagiwara's Baby Elephant with the elephant hide.
But I don't know what to fold with the rest, any ideas? Here is what will remain:
24 cm: ocher biotope, black Rouketsu, light gray Lizard, white Tant, ivory Yohishi
20 cm: yellow Korean hanji (does this require MC?), green unryu hanji (also MC?), coffee tissue foil

Re: What To Fold
Tann -> I know the makers of Ogami were looking into making glow-in-the-dark paper at some point. They may be willing to send you some.
