Thanks sable7 :)

I've always wanted to fold a sea turtle after seeing this amazing turtle by Kei Watanabe. Suprisingly, adding the scales on was one of the easier parts - I just had to make sure to leave enough paper at the top create transitions from pleats ryujin-style. The hard part was transitioning from the shell (which was the first part I designed) to the rest of the model. There are still some things I'd like to improve, like trying to lengthen the neck, but overall I'm very happy with this model.

That’s insane! It’s reminiscent of the loggerhead sea turtle by kamiya, which is quite an impressive model in itself. Great job with the scales! That’s a great model :)
I’m a young folder from the U.S. I love folding complex models and I’m beginning to design my own.

Thanks :), it is definitely partly inspired by that model.

Quite a lot. Here goes...
ImageMacaw by Folderp, on Flickr
This model came about as a result of me playing around with a square with two silver rectangles in it. As you might be able to guess from that, there are some nice geometries going on. I'm quite satisfied with it.

ImageSamurai by Folderp, on Flickr
A week or two ago, I was like "Hey, what happens if I chuck a classic samurai helmet in the corner of a square and fold a person out of the rest of it?" This is the result.

ImageDwarf by Folderp, on Flickr
This is an asymmetrical (but only slightly) dwarf that I designed. It came about as a result of me trying to make, well, a guy with a sword and shield actually. Which is good. Normally I fold around a bit until I get an idea to do something with a base, instead of deciding on something to do and then folding it.
From a frog base.

ImageBrachiosaurus by Folderp, on Flickr
A simple brachiosaurus I ended up with after playing around with a point split. From a fish base.

ImageDimetrodon by Folderp, on Flickr
This is a simple asymmetrical dimetrodon I designed. The spine thingy is from one corner of the square and the legs (only two of them) are from the opposite corner. The legs are formed the same way as those of my Diplodocus.

ImageYoda on a chair by Folderp, on Flickr

This model was designed as my entry for the design challenge "movement without legs". I was thinking about odd not-wheeled, not-fish, not-snake things I could do when I stumbled across the idea of floating cars. Then I thought, "how about floating chairs?"

But how to make it obvious that it was a floating chair, and how to make it an interesting model? Then I remembered the floating Jedi Council Chairs from the prequel Star Wars movies. An thus the idea was born.

The designing itself was pretty simple. I plugged a bird base into the corner of a square an made the body and chair from the long strip left over.

Folded from terrible (but, hey, at least it's two colored) paper, 25x25cm.

ImageWyvern? 0.1 by Folderp, on Flickr

A somewhat successful attempt at designing a scaled dragon, but with a mildly disturbing lack of legs, which I'm working on adding now. Unfortunately, the method I'm using is not the most efficient ever, and the grid size ended up doubling. So, I'm in the process of folding the 64x64 grid at the moment.
