Wow, this is amazing

Post by TheRealChris »

The last two month boosted the number of our members upwards. The September was the month with the most joinings ever: 36 people chose to be a part of the best board around :)

For those who are interested, I made a top 5 list

place 05: july '04, 9 joinings :)
place 04: june '04, 10 joinings :D
place 03: april '03, 11 joinings :D
place 02: april '04 + may '04, 17 joinings 8)
place 01: sep. '04, 36 joinings

But the actual month October could beat the second place, because we have 15 new members until now.

And on the other hand, the number of posts are dropping:

June 04: 103
July 04: 83
Aug 04: 60
Sept 04: 42
(+/- 5 posts)

So by November, there won't be any more posts on the board.
Go figure.

Plus, you might want to quickly scan through the URLs that these new users have posted in the profile. A large proportion of them are advertising sites. I'll be careful when opening those URLs, what with all the browser vulnerabilities and malicious website code these days.

Somehow I don't think these guys are here to talk about paperfolding.

its the same in all forums, there is a core of people, that are talking and the majority is only reading. sadly, most people try to boost their number of entries with answers like "right" or short sh#t like that.
I wouldn't worry about any sinking posting numbers. july and august is vacation time... and from time to time there is little to say ;)

Hi Chris and crew!

I finally got my net connection back! I'm sorry I've not been as supportive on the board in the last few months, but my parents are moving out, I got a new job (Uni is on hold for a while) and my life has been very busy!

Thanks for the stats Chris - very useful!

Hopefully we can get the posts to increase; if possible (if you have a website etc) try placing a link to the board, or perhaps even on your email signature.

Christmas is coming up and we may have some interesting discussions :)

sorry about not posting much lately. I have become the webmaster of another site, I am involved in the local radio, and I have 17 Engineering course. I have only a limited time to fold, and that is when I should be studing. I did fold my first life like insect, a black pine sawyer http://www.forestry.ubc.ca/fetch21/FRST ... 5767-9.jpg

And I tought a beginner how to fold the K rose!!

P.S. You guys are catching up to me in post count!

Congrats on the black pine sawyer, its awesome. I think we'll have to do some weeding from all these users, especially the ones named "and346" and other such jibberish. I'm sure posts will pick up during the winter.

Hi guys,

In response to fake user registrations, an update has been implemented which prevents bots from registering on the Forum.

Users whose profiles contained links to websites containing profanity or unsuitable material have been deleted (I ensured that those memberships were made by a bot).

Please alert a board moderator if you suspect that an account may be fake and we will try to delete that account as soon as possible.
