Basically, what you're doing in step 68 is using your precreases to box-pleat the corner. When you open up the pleats as it says in 67, start pleating from the edge of the paper on inward. Don't forget the valley fold under the layer to fold the model flat.

The steps 101-102 in the book (or step 68 in Tanteidan #77) are unclear. There is no reference for the folds and there is some kind of sink needed in the top to be able to make a reverse fold?

Yea, there aren't any reference points but since you're crinkling most of the beard anyway you don't have to make it perfectly like Kamiya's. Just get as close as you can. At the top, You don't have to sink. Make both valley folds, where one reaches towards the edge of the model and the other stops where it intersects with the first. Keep in mind the model doesn't like totally flat.

So in the step 103 (book) it is not a sink but rather the corner folded to a side? Also strange how this feature randomly disapperas and reappers in the following steps

Pretty much. How you do it is pretty insignificant. If you wanted to sink it, I suppose you could. But, since the wizard's cap is usually tilted forward, you don't usually notice the corner.

Yeah, man. Just open the book, and look after page 187. They should be there.

Right, but Jared forgot to mention that it's a little difficult when your pages are made out of zeros and ones. Maybe if you try REALLY hard you'll find them.

The time some people waste on this forum asking for free diagrams could be used more productively in a work environment and then they can proudly BUY the book with their own money!!!!
