Once I can get a better boar god finished I'll have to return to that Takashi violinist. The divisions into 40ths one way was fine, but it made it harder to keep the paper flat enough to do it in uniform divisions the other way-- the result grid stretching across the paper. Wasn't bad enough to prevent me from getting the dress, head and legs, but it was enough to prevent me from getting the stuff in the center right (think instead of squares I end up with rectangles).

When I can overcome that obstacle I'll probably need from you folding gurus anyway. :)

Well I ended up working on something different tonight.

It's supposed to be a LISA spacecraft, my own creation. You can see more on the challenge thread I made. :)

Ooh. I second David's comments about thedeadsmellbad's Yoda. Brilliant shaping on the face.

I tried to fold Jason Ku's Balrog for the first time today from the diagrams in Origami Tanteidan 10. I used a 17 inch piece of Tissue foil. I had trouble with step 41 I didn't know if I needed to keep the small flap free so I ended up locking it in place. I had to free it in step 149. I also had a small rip in the right hand and on the bottom of the chest. It took me about 5 hours to finish. I'll have to try to do it again without ripping it. Here's a picture

Cool. I folded Netto's Dama out of a sheet of silver Japanese foil. I'm not proud of the result (the wings look a little wrinkled) so no picture. Divisions by 32nds on both sides is so darned tedious!!!
