Kamiya's Boar God
Okay I managed to complete the model, but the face is a bit mangled-- there are a few steps that I couldn't do right/figure out and I just messed around, finding a way through. I got the tusks, ears and all that, but I'm not satisfied.
So can anyone help me do steps 107-110 right? i.e. advise me? That's the only trouble I have is hacking those steps.

I don't know what to tell you here other than follow the creases shown. In 106 you're opening up and flattening out the top, then in 107 you're popping up the little triangle you can see in 108. In 108 you're popping the tip of the assembly inside out. In 109 You're just collapsing along creases that are already there. Just basically pinch the the thing together like the little arrows show and swing it up against the rest of the model to lie flat like in 110. I hope this help!
The fact that the creases are already there should help me. I'll give it another shot.
Sometimes, I can overlook something important on the first time through, and I just blank and then I'm out of luck later down the road because I didn't realize that I accidently skipped a step.
It's so stupid, and I will usually catch these things second time through.

Actually, it's not a translation error at all. The word "crimp" has two different definitions in origami. Unfortunately, they don't jive with each other. Take a look at this thread for the two definitions. MeadowMuffin's definition seems to be more accepted in the USA (and it's the definition I prefer), and wolf's definition seems to be more accepted outside the USA. Kamiya is using wolf's definition.T wrote:Anyone else notice that throughout this book pleats are called crimps and crimps are called pleats.
I noticed this especially in the Boar God model. I guess it's just a small translation error
Hi,
I saw two thread for this model and can't find the answer to my issue.
I get stuck at step 82, how do I get it to flat?
The model does not want to flatten due to the crimp done at step 81.
I wonder if I'm doing the crimp correctly... ( I happened already a few time since the beginning, I keep doing pleat instead of crimp)
Is there new crease to create to get the model flat?
Anyway, following are some pictures (not the best quality) of where I'm stuck .
I can't get it flat with only the crease shown in the diagram.

any help will be appreciated
Cheers,
Edit: i had inverted the pictures caption...
