Modular Origami
I'm new here. I was reading through a lot of the threads here and I didn't see many people that do much modular origami. Are there any of you out there who do? I know I'm a big fan of modular and otherwise geometric stuff. The most common module I make is Tom Hull's PHiZZ unit. I have about 1800 of the modules folded and sitting in a box, waiting to be assembled. In addition to those pieces, I actually just finished making two 555-piece tori. One of them is about 11" wide and the other is about 15" wide. Also, as my avatar suggests, I haev done the FIT model too, actually about 5 times (and I actually find it gets harder for me to assemble each time i make it).
Modular Origami
Sometimes I also make modular Models. The biggest Model I made was out of 402 squares. Maybe some day I will fold a Model with thousend or more units, don´t know. But at the Moment I find it more satisfying to fold very complex Models instead of modular Models. But some modular Models are really looking very great, because of the many different colours you can use.
I frequently fold modular stuff. I usually don't build things that take more than 100 or so units because I get a bit burned out making the same unit over and over again after a while, but I have made lots of different things.

I would be proud too if I did 900 phizz modules! I would be proud to do anything with that many modules! You guys have the patients to do that and I don't!
How do you put the FIT model together yee245? Everytime I do it something is always in the wrong place! Oh and the most major modular I have done is a 30 unit Open Frame I - Bow-Tie Motif! (whoop dee do!)

I have also
-900, 360, 300, 120 Sonobes
-120, 270 phizz
-180,72,60 Twirls
-216 phizz torus.
- a lot of smaller balls
Now I'm starting work with 684 sonobe.
My friend is building 1710 from phizz, he has 350 modules assembled, and he is cutting paper for the rest of modules now (he also has 900 sonobe).

I love modular origami !!!
I´ve done a few, like a phizz bucky ball, a modular swan (made of 500 units) and Tomas Hull´s Five intersecting tetrahedra.

To put the FIT model together I looked very carefully at Thomas Hull´s website, specially at "Forming the object" section. -> http://www.merrimack.edu/~thull/fit.html <-FunkeeFolder wrote: How do you put the FIT model together yee245? I can tell you that patience is problem while I'm assembling hundreds modules together. Whole process of making phizz900 took 30 hours =D

I'm now laughing of my friend who just started 1710 modules model, from phizz (I've wrote about him before) but I would propably make such ball from sonobe modules when I will finish swan (500 - should be ready tomorow), and sonobe 684.
Where are you exacly from Frydrych??
I'm from Gdynia (northern Poland, near Gdańsk )
