Upcoming and past Conventions

Post by origami_8 »

Seeing that it is always interesting to know who attends which convention, I thought to make a combined topic where everyone can tell when a convention takes place and whether or not he comes. This would also be a place to be to speak about models one wants to teach/learn. When the convention has passed it would also be nice to see reports and photos.

The next conventions I'm going to attend are Poland/Krakow (May 1-3) and Germany/Berlin (June 12-14).
I also plan to go to Italy again but do not know an exact date yet, but I guess December 5-8 looks promising.

Other conventions I know of so far are OUSA/New York (June 26-30), Hungary/Budapest (July 31 - August 2) and PCOC/San Francisco (November 5-8).

Please tell me about your plans!

I'll be at PCOC/SF! And maybe the OUSA NY convention as well... it depends on if I can get a job over the summer.

The PCOC convention looks great, with an amazing guest list, including some old names coming back in to the spotlight.

I hope someone will be able to give a full report after that event - particularly the Bernie Peyton and Peter Engel content, as there's no chance I can attend.

the customers and friends of the viereck-verlag will probably know about the forthcoming freising convention. will any forum member be there and are there experiences from the earlier meetings there?

Sadly I missed the Australian conventions on 2003, 2005 & 2007.
I haven't heard any news about one for 2009 either which is a pity, since I would definitely attend if there was one.

i'll probably join the freising convention (21.-23.05.2010). around these days there'll start an exhibition of david brills models at the freising origami gallery - so may be he's going to be the starguest of the meeting, too. i'd really like to fold some of his cute cats with him ...

Centerfold

Post by steingar »

I'll be attending Centerfold (http://www.ohiopaperfolders.com/convention.html) in Columbus Ohio in August. Being one of the organizers I think it's expected. Should be lots of inexpensive fun (less than $100 if you register early and only a little more if you register late). We should have the credit card stuff up soon. The hotel is nice and quite inexpensive too. Dave Brill and Tomoko Fuse are slated to come, and there will be some other notable folders as well, not to mention yours truly.
