What have you folded lately?

I can't count how many times I've said I wouldn't fold this again...

From silver, non-foil paper.

What size and type of paper did you use for the phoenix?

I folded it from a square, 9.75 inches on a side. The paper was 60# metallic silver, 27x19.5 inches. I think it was by Canson or Canford. The model number is 265220, and it cost $1.50 per sheet, if that helps in any way.

I think that this metallic paper is especially nice for folding CPs, because like foil it is easy to see the creases, but unlike foil...well, it's not foil. It doesn't look ugly when folded, and it's not as fragile as foil. I might have to get some more of this stuff before I go back up to school.

Did you use the crease pattern from Kamiya's site, when I tried I couldn't make out the creases of the head, it just looked like a black mess

I haven't tried many cp's.
Wolf by Mark Leonard , Cat by Hideo Kamatsu & now these two.
I printed the pattern directly on the paper everytime.

Longhorn Beetle by Fumiaki Kawahata. Found the CP in Origami Insect 1 and at Meguro Toshiyuki's home page.

Jirafa by Komatsu Hideo. One of my favourite Jirafa.

I can't wait to fold Jason Ku's models next. The Fairy and the Sharktopus are wonderful.

I think Hideo's Giraffe is one of the best Origami Giraffe designs out there, but I have so far failed to fold it from the CP
