Hi Draco, I just tried that Wolf and figured the main reference:

Red marks the central reference
That's my third CP, happy I managed to find it alone!

I am thinking about trying Satoshi's Phoenix 3.5 from cp soon. I got paper that was way too thick though.... I haven't done to may cps yet, but most were completed. I actually think cps are more fun than diagrams personally.

Could someone please suggest some good (not too easy not too hard) cp to start with?

The only CP I have ever managed to fold successfully was Langs Stetson (from his website) was very simple and he even indicated the valley and mountains.
every other CP I have tried have ended up being the all too common crunched ball
does anyone know of guides so you can start at the very very basic and work your way up?

Yeah a good starter CP would be the dobsonfly, it's pretty straightfoward, and there should be a topic on this site to guide you if you need help. I started with that one on Anna's advice
