You've send it to me as a RAR file, but I can't seem to open it. Does anyone know how to open them?
Art is about creation. It is about self-expression. It is giving form to something within you.

Try 7-Zip. It is completely free, unlike Winrar.

first attempt

Post by anvimom »

Here is my first attempt on the standing crane... I guess if i do a wet folding with a bit thick paper the shapes and wings would turn more beautiful...
Also the crane was not standing perfectly i had to twist the legs to take the snap...
Thanks for the diagrams Pavel.

Has anyone folded Pavel's bird and could give me some help on Step 19? I'm pretty sure I understand all the creases and you end up with nice collapse around the head but the instruction for "fold down corner A" doesn't really tell me what A is supposed to look like when it IS folded.

I've tried to be really meticulous about pattern of valley and mountain folds but nothing I do seems to end up with that nice "christmas tree" shape at the top and the wings on either side on my model seem to be at a much higher angle than the diagram.

is it supposed to collapse flat?

Hm it was the hardest step in that diagramm. It takes me about 1 hour to make it. I had the same problem. It is hard to describe how to fold this step even harder for me in English... but you have to try the collapse in different ways . The creases are all right. The model don't lie flat after the step (if I remember it right) and it hasn't the "exact" view as in the diagramm(because it isn't flat). I mentioned that in my review to pavel. Sorry if I can't help you more, I am not the best in explaining trough the net..

anybody folded the rat of love??

I don't know if I am too noob o the diagrams are quite unclear...it's a nice model but really I can't go on.

Now I'm stopped at step 20...is this step an inside reverse fold?
I don't understand the disposition on mountain folds...any help?
