Satoshi's Unicorn - step 126-128?

Post by EuanBingham »

Hello

I'm having real trouble trying to complete steps 126-128 of Satoshi Kamiya's beautiful 'Unicorn' model. I'm not sure how far into the pleats I'm supposed to open out, as there are quite a few layers.

Any tips on these folds?

Thanks in advance

Depends on what diagrams you are talking about.
For the diagrams in the Works of Satoshi Kamiya 126 - 128 seem to be the correct steps.
The corresponding steps in Tanteidan Convention Book 7 would be 119 - 121.

Can't help here though since I haven't got around to fold this nice model yet. But it looks to me that only one pleat (the outermost) needs to be opened.
So long and keep folding ^_^

Yes, that's the one. The crease lines on the right edge don't seem to match up with the image when you only open out the outermost pleats.

the diagrams are different, but you open more than one....I open as needed to form the hoof area then collapse until it resembles the diagram.
one of them is partialy opened.

in words it's difficult to explain so....
step 127 pull up the 1st front and back layer

the same step with an "inside" view

Nice.. Thanks very much for the help. I just managed to finish it for the first time. I used a piece of newspaper, which doesn't hold it's shape very well, but looks good all the same. I'll put a picture up in the morning. :)

Thanks again..
