Satoshi Kamiya - Angel (CP)

Post by Zoraz »

Has anyone here folded Kamiya's angel from the CP on his site? if so, i could use a little help with the lower half (where the grid is 64x32). the stretches just don't want to happen, and im not sure about the reference points on the strangely shaped things on the right side of the bottom edge. The point allocation would also be great if anyone knows that.
Thanks!

I've folded the model a while ago and the part you where talking about is easier to solve than you think. Here you go :

I was too lazy to explain it... Anyway, it's pretty self-explanatory. The triangle part near the lower left part is something you see from time to time in boxpleating.

Seeing it magnified with grid lines makes it so much easier than it appeared on the pattern. i do recognize that triangle from some other patterns ive seen.

Which part of the angel does that become?

I'm fairly sure that all those flap on the lower egde will form the hair. The face is a little bit higher on the crease pattern, on the center of the symetrical axe.

I figured it out today in school, with help from your little picture. Thanks! I didn't know how to shape the hair, so that was just improv but the rest turned out pretty good (for kami) I'll post a pic when i get the chance

Don't wory about the hair : I had to improvise with it as well. Actually, the hardest part to shape for me was the dress : since it comes from the center of the square, you can only work with it from the exterior. Anyway, I can't wait to see your result.

Woah, you sure used a small square for this! Even though I don't think kami is a well-suited paper for this model, yours turned out pretty well. You even inputed some color-changes into it. Good job!

Thanks! the color changes were completely accidental. I should be getting some MC for christmas, so I'll refold it from double tissue and post pics of that. Hopefully it will be good enough for a birthday gift!
