okay so i think youre moaking this more complicated than it actually is. you are just squash folding those two flaps out to the side..it says inside reverse fold(which it actually is) but it helps if you think of it like a squash fold. hope this helps a bit. good luck!

Cannot figure out steps 69-70. I screwed them up, but kept going. The body turned out ok, but the head looked like some sort of mangled walrus :? can someone help?

In step 68 you are folding down what will become the leading edges of the front legs. As you do this, you are stretching some of the paper in the neck. the circled points are the ends of the creases formed by this stretch.

If you want to see my cred, check out my smilodon here: http://arnoldsorigami.jimdo.com/2011/02 ... -smilodon/
-Fold until you cant fold anymore...then keep folding.

In 69, what does it mean by "pull out the hidden edge"?

Edit: Nevermind, got it! :D thanks so much Arnold!

102 is simply making crimps in order to create flaps for the legs, and also making the body three-dimensional.

Tips for this step:
-find a finished picture of the model online that you can look at.
-crease the back first, make it into a prism-like object.
-perform the leg crimps.
-skip to step 113 and finish the front legs up to step 115-116 ( do not do step 116 yet).
-then go back and perform the neck/shoulder crimps, and you can continue to do 103 and beyond.

Hope this helps. I don't like Satoshi's order of doing things so I often skip the head (steps 103-112) until the last thing. It just seems out of place, hence why I suggested doing step 113-115 in order to lock the front legs better (as you don't necessarily have good paper that holds those shaping folds).

Well, it's a bit hard to describe. Step 41 is a three-dimensional step, although that's not 100% clear from the diagram. Combined, steps 40-41 are basically a sort of irregular petal fold. If you make the reverse fold in step 40 properly, the little point won't really lie flat; in order to make it lie flat, you have to fold the sides inward (step 41), the same sort of way you would when making the wing point of a bird base except that the sides don't quite go all the way in to the center line or come to a point at the tip of the flap. You can see the results of this petal fold in the diagram for step 45. Dunno if that makes any sense...?
