What is this paper

I recently discovered a art/specialty papers shop within walking distance from where I live. They stock many papers, many of which are far too thick for folding, but i have found one paper which is very good when back coated(I used watered down PVA.). It is thin but still quite strong, but I have no idea what it is called, can anyone tell me?

It could be anything, but it looks like mulberry/unryu paper.

This looks like Indian Handmade Paper with grains. I have seen such paper in Aurobindo Paper Factory in Pondicherry, India. This is where I get my paper from, they've got over 100 varieties of paper!!

Sure it is Unryu ! I ordered Unryu from Japan and they delivered this type of paper.

I got new paper recently and it looked just like that, it said it was handmade but im not sure if theres a specific name for it

Could I trouble you to list some of the better folding papers they have? I have a friend that will be going over there some time in the next few months, and if I can tell her what to get, she'll bring some back for me. =)

Mmm.... I don't know the exact names, but here is what I got:
1. HandMade Thin/Thick Marble Paper - very colourful
2. HandMade Thin/Thick Paper (60 Colours)
3. HandMade Thin/Thick Paper with Grains
4. HandMade Thin/Thick Spray Painted Paper
5. Very Delicate Thin Grainy Transparent Handmade Paper this is expensive, a sheet costs around half a pound. I got a couple of these and I left them in my Bus!

All the above are available in over 60 colours, based on your luck u can get them. I got around 100 sheets when I went there. It costed me around 12 Pounds. Is she going to Pondicherry? or India. You also get these papers in the Sabarmati Ashram in the North of India, in Ahmedabad. Hope that helps.

This definitely looks like Mulberry paper. I bought a pack of 12 sheets a couple of months ago. The paper weight is around 25 g/m^2.

At the same place they had a paper called sugar cane paper, does anyone know if it is good for folding?

They have some paper which is used for covering lampshades and stuff... this paper is kinda thin... I am not sure if this is sugarcane paper, the paper used for lampshades can't be folded for sure, I think it would tear.
