Still, with your photos as a guide I managed to get it looking just about right.

I only used 15cm paper, and not all that thin, so the final shaping is a bit lacking. I did the feet a different way for the sake of simplicity too.
Don't worry, I used a 40x40 cm paper for doing it, and I didn't expect anyone to try to fold it (specially with a small paper)
You got the base, some details are missing but that doesn't matter, thank you for folding it :)

I'm really happy with how it turned out, it was my first atempt with good paper. the only thing i need to work on is the wings and the side tails, now on to the 3.5!

Is it one sheet two colors or two sheets of paper?
It's 2 sheets of paper - both measuring the same size - duo-colored, too. 1 sheet for the lotus and another for Buddha.

I designed jack the ripper! I've only done one test fold, which is why there aren't any pictures (major messy) but once i've got out some biggish black paper, the famous victorian murderer will be ready for display!

Mini Ancient Dragon by Bassjason1, on Flickr

Designed by Satoshi Kamiya and folded by me from pink copy paper. It took about 2 hours, and I only skipped some of the finer steps involved with the head.

Black Terror: Lovely salamander with beautiful curves. I also like the extra fold for the background.

A fairly simple scorpion of my own design.
I was focusing only on the iconic tail and pincers of the critter so it didn't get much in the way of detailed legs or head, but I think it still conveys the sense of a scorpion fairly well.
