So a lone blurry photo diagram might be touched up to readable level, but a page of smudged drawings might not depending on how much time you have?

Well it also depends on what is possible with the materials I get. On scanned in diagrams it might be possible to enhance the picture quality a bit by lightening up the background and I've done so in the past. But the primary purpose of the book is not that I diagram something for you, but it is kind of a diagram exchange. Everyone who sends an Origami instruction in gets all the instructions back that have been sent in. I never said I would change them in any way and for most of them it really isn't necessary. I myself would be very offended if someone redrew my sent in diagrams for a Convention book, what actually happened in the past and is reason enough for me to not send diagrams for publication to this Society any more. So if I do something, I only make slight adjustments like lightening up the background on Scans or arranging pictures in a way, that they are big enough that the details can be seen but not so big it would be annoying. The quality of the book therefore depends a lot on what materials I get. I do this collection in my free time and don't get anything for it. I also always had a contribution in form of a diagram myself, so you can't even say I get the collection for free.

Anna, your service to the community is highly commendable. I wouldn't dream of asking you to modify anyone's instructions in any way, goodness knows you have a life! Personally I think it up to the artists to send you clear instructions.

Again, thank you for doing this. Here in the US most of the Christmas stuff is cloyingly commercial. Nice to see someone somewhere with some genuine Christmas spirit.

If they did, you probably wouldn't get a copy of the book out of it!

Not so negative guys. We had cases in the past where another person diagrammed the model of someone else and both participated as one person. This is especially interesting for people without own models who have drawing abilities and people with own models but without drawing abilities. If you read the FAQ,it is even mentioned that this is possible, so yes, if someone is willing to help him draw diagrams both can get the book.

You can make passable diagrams with graph paper, a pencil and a straight edge. If you have some resources, you can scan your diagrams and use a photographic analysis program to improve them markedly. However, diagramming is easily the least rewarding and most difficult and time-consuming part of the creative process.

I've just invented a model. If i have time i will crease pattern it. I don't think diagramming it in the time limit will be possible, although a crease pattern may suffice.
I have invented an origami stargate, stand and dialling port for one sheet of paper. The one problem with the design is that it hasn't got a hole through the middle.
It is more than slightly complicated, which will make a contrast to my other model, which i keep forgetting to send.

I was thinking in sending diagrams for my kittens, but considering I wouldn't be able of posting them anywhere else I won't do it.
Such a shame, but I will upload diagrams sometime in my flickr account.

You can upload them elsewhere at the beginning of February. If you can keep them for so long, you can participate and then make them public afterwards.

Does anyone want something in particular? (doable in the next 14 days, designing + diagramming/collapsing guide) I want to submit something but can't really find the motivation to make things I want myself....
