As far as I understood your post you have not really started diagramming yet.
Why not start by diagramming a single model rather shooting for a complete book(let)?
That's a lot less work and might be as rewarding.
You can just post them online for free, you could sell them (e.g. The Origami Source - OrigamiUSA), submit them to a magazine (MiniNeo etc.), or send them to a convention.
For example you could first submit them to the
Christmas Origami Book and later on send them to a convention. If your submission gets accepted you usually get at least a free PDF copy of the whole convention book and sometimes they even snail-mail you a hard-copy (I personally find the latter particularly rewarding). There should be more information elsewhere on this forum.
Once you have diagrammed (and published) a few models you can still consider to compile an e-book.
If you really want to go directly for an e-book make sure to have somebody proof-read your diagrams and you should also consider to make the photographs of the finished models look a bit more professional.
