Help with Robert Lang's Scorpion.

Post by kingdomwinds »

I am folding the Scorpion varileg in Origami Tanteidan book #8. It is the same Scorpion as in Origami insects 2. Problem is in step #16.

It is almost impossible for me to join the reference points and create a perfect fold. the ref points are already angular so they have a tendancy to fold when they are not supposed to. I did make the two folds but both came out uneven.

What is a way to actually make this fold? I think these reference points are just awful because it is difficult to make everything even.

Hi,

I feel your pain. :-)
The pre-creasing steps for that model is quite tedious.

Anyway, I had to temporarily mark the reference points with pencils. For extra long diagonal folds....I employed the aid of rulers.

Not really purist... but it works.

Yeah using a ruler is probably my best bet. It is almost impossible to get accuracy just using hands.
