I need paper!!

Post by rayphoenix1080 »

Does anyone know where I can purchase large sized foil backed paper? It doesn't even have to just be foil, I'm looking for foil, opalescent, or metallic. I already have 5 7/8", but I'm looking for 9 or 10 inch... PLEASE HELP!!

I've never seen that kind of paper around where I live, so I have to suggest just making it yourself. Do a forum search and you'll find out how to make your own paper and you'll easily be able to make foil backed paper much larger than ten inches.

What do you want to make with it?

Have you tried the art stores in Memphis? Some of the art stores here in Nashville have something that might be like what you're looking for.

Other than that, making your own or buying online are probably your best options.

Through Origami USA's 'The Source', you should be able to easily find sheets of 10" foil paper-probably Japanese and American foil. If you are looking for tissue foil, you really have to make your own though.

oh wow!! thank you very much, all three aof you! I checked the source and found exactly what i was looking for! Plus, I will be making my own, so I can make supersized models!

also, to answer your question, malachi, I was attempting to make really nice shiny models from Robert Lang's "Origami Insects and Their Kin".

Well post some pictures up when you do, but if you can, make it out of something other than shiny foil since it's not very photogenic. Good luck.
