Is this original? polyhedron edge unit with corner spikes

I have been playing with modular units for a while now, but haven't seen even a fraction of the books and existing designs out there. This unit is the result of just folding until I got something that looked interesting, then putting together 12 of them. Is it original? If not, can anyone recommend a book or site with similar units? If so then I will probably diagram it.
