Way to go Cupcake !

Now for something a littlle Different. This is a response to a suggestion from Origami_8 (anna) for a Doll House with a lot of special features including an elevator.

This is a model of a moving elevator created to be attached to a Doll House (to be created in stages later).

Nice job on the elevator and the umbrella Doc. I like that we're not shaming away from plainly doing all of them

, but for the time being I'm a bit indisposed. I have three major origami projects all culminating in the next month, so I'll have to devote my attention to these projects. I am, however, making one of the challenge proposals as part of one of these projects, namely the globe. Thus this'll be the first one I make. I think I want to try the elevator after that, seeing as I may have a better door solution

. Great job on the umbrella, really great. I would be proud if I manage to out do such an elegant creation. As for the optical illusion, I think that one needs to study the proportions needed for the proper effect more carefully than would be immediately apparent from it's simple design (refering to the one Cupcake also discovered). I confess that the two suggestions I most prefer are the globe and the moving bridge, I like making things that move

, so I think I'll atempt a moving bridge aswell.

Oh, if you're wondering what the projects are, I'll explain. I'm entering my interpretation of the theme "All things bright and beautiful" into my university's talent festival being held on 11 May '07. I will also be heading the stage decor for the evening using meter high Sonobe ball's, Umulius rectangulums, my own SFS (a Spirals Flamboyant Shell), octagonally twisted pillars (spawned from the latteral expansion of these construction principles) and a few others. I'll also be doing the entrance diplay area with custom lampshades. Third I'll be doing table decorations (SFS mainly) for the dinner on our Elite Camp on the 25th, which our campus principle will be attending. So you can see my preoccupation

I composed a little music to go with the video. I am not sure if it makes it better or worse. I just repeated the video 4 times so you can get a feeling of a longer sequence of events.

What do you thinlk? Should I keep the music for the longer sequence or go without? If you like the idea of music but not may partiular composition, suggest a royalty free (not copyrighted) alternative !

with music its better - but it would be better to show it in different angles, instead of repeat it 4 times

I did one of those some years ago - will try and find it in my "box of bits". There's also been at least 2 balancing birds, a construction vehicle (Hulme, Momotani) a moving bridge (Kenneway) and dozens of optical illusions.

My next thing for this challenge will take me a little time - In the mean time - check out the
Rainbow O'Slinky. It works like a slinky and looks like a tumbling rainbow:
