I usually only use my hands. Sometimes I have to use a pencil to 'open up' the paper though ( usually when I have to squash fold something ). So far that's all I've needed to fold my paper.

Sometimes I use the tip of my Nintodo DS stylus to help put modulars together; it has a nice small smooth point.
