Folding the snout or nostrils in a horse?

I'm folding a horse model. It's a friend's design. For the face he uses a 45° tip -just like the thinner tip of a kite base-. He hides a little of the tip under -to shorten the head- and folds it all in half in order to have both sides. Know what I mean?

I want to fold the snout or maybe just the nostrils. Can you give some ideas of how to do that with that tip?

Thanks in advance :).

I'm not familiar with the term "comet base", but I think it all depends on whether or not it's a middle/edge flap or a corner flap. A simple open sink would probably do the trick though.

Thanks Brimstone. Yeah, my mistake. I meant the kite base. I'll fix that in the original message.

How would you do it through an open sink Baltorigamist?

Assuming it's a corner flap, it wouldn't be a full open sink but a partial one.
Crease the tip where you want the line of the sink to be and open the layers. Then convert the crease you just made into a mountain fold all the way around, turn the mountain folds from the tip to valleys, and flatten.
I might be able to post a picture if it's not clear.

Foldingsmith, your method worked perfect. I hid the tip under the back layers to lock everything instead of using it for a mouth or tongue.

Thanks for the idea :).
